About Horizon Verjus Company

A farm-to-table mission

The idea for Horizon Verjus Company was hatched early in 2021.

The founder, Kevin, is a restaurant industry veteran who developed a passion for local food. This passion sent us on a quest to further contribute to the farm-to-table movement. With a background in curating local wines and creating sustainable cocktails and beverages, Kevin's skillset lent itself to crafting a verjus brand.

Our mission is simple: play our part in creating a more cohesive local food system. We accomplish this by upcycling local fruit that would otherwise go to waste.

Each bottle of verjus used in place of citrus equals approximately 16 lemons or 25 limes. If you live in a place that doesn't grow citrus (ie Colorado), this can add up to a significant reduction in our carbon footprint, simply by using this local ingredient.

Beyond our verjus, we pridefully partner with other local businesses who strive to do good. We recognize it requires a committed community to create a strong local economy and food system that works for all.

Frequently asked questions

How long does verjus last?

Our verjus can keep like a fine wine unopened in your pantry. When storing unopened, keep verjus at room temperature and away from direct sunlight.
Once our product is opened, we recommend keeping your verjus in the fridge. For freshness, use within 30 days after opening.
Pro tip! If you'd like to extend the life of the verjus, pour juice into ice cube trays and freeze. Once frozen, transfer cubes into a freezer bag. Pop a cube or two out as needed.
